Far Nook self catering cottage in Ambleside has a lovely garden, which changes with the seasons. We encourage our guests to relax and enjoy our garden during their stay
The Gardens
There is a 300-year-old patriarchal Spanish chestnut tree and many mature shrubs. Springtime has a glorious show of rhododendrons and azaleas and a wonderful magnolia. We then move on into summer with the hydrangeas, crocosmia, crane's bill and hostas all in their glory! Even in late autumn some shrubs normally remain in flower. If the snow settles in winter then building a snowman is a compulsory activity for groups of all ages!
Garden furniture is provided so that guests can dine al fresco when the weather permits. Or if it is raining you can shelter in the summer house. We also have a scattering of small benches including one by the small pond with its tasteful man-made stream and fountain. Water resistant picnic rugs are provided; these can also be taken out by those that are going on a hike.
In the back corner of the garden is a shed with a padlocked door, this can be used by guests to store bikes etc.
