The building has been renovated and extended numerous times taking its present shape in the nineties and noughties. For the best part of the decade preceding June 2015 Far Nook was run as a very successful and popular B&B by a lovely couple Marian and Tony.

From 2022 onwards Far Nook is available as a self-catered holiday cottage through Lakeland Retreats, please note that any bookings with our prior agents (Lakelovers) will obviously be honoured. What we have strived to achieve is to maintain the feeling of homeliness that we experienced when we first visited the property, whilst combining this with access to all of the facilities in the house. For those regular users of Far Nook when it was a B&B, please note we will be offering shorter breaks at certain times of the year.

When we were setting the property up as a self catered cottage we took advice from the experts as well as friends who are regular users of self catered accommodation. Requests included decent kitchen knives, matching crockery, nice plastic glasses for using outside, big pots for cooking in, luxury duvet covers, a range of tog strengths available for the duvets, etc. We want your holiday to be as enjoyable as possible and will continue to take feedback if we have missed anything!
