	Far Nook is a traditionally built detached Lakeland stone residence set in its own grounds on the northern edge of Ambleside, but only five minutes walk from the town centre facilities for restaurants and shops. Waterhead Pier and Windermere Lake Ferry Services are a 15 minute walk away (or alternatively take the shuttle bus from the centre of Ambleside) where you can travel by boat to Bowness Bay or Lakeside or take the cruise around the many small islands on Windermere lake. Grasmere and Wordsworth's Dove Cottage are approx. 4 miles away and Wordsworth's other historic house Rydal Mount, is approx. 1.5 miles away. Far Nook is ideally situated for touring the Lake District.

	Far Nook has private parking for our guests, ideal for leaving your car behind and taking many of the lovely walks from our doorstep. Alternatively for public transport, bus stops (north & south) are 300 yards away, walk to your destination and get the bus back, or vice versa.
