Access Statement

Far Nook is located on the Rydal Road, Ambleside, with Bus stops within a 100 metres going in both directions. Buses on this route are the 555 and 599.

On arrival at Far Nook, if coming by car, turn into our entrance where the Car Park is located on the right hand side immediately in front of the House. The Car Park is of slate chippings and has spaces for all guests’ cars. There is sensor lighting if using the Car Park after dark.

The main entrance to the House is on the left hand side at the front of the building. There are two steps up to our porch. (Max height 17cm) and a further one step up to the front door (16cm).Both doors are 84cm wide. A bell push on the left hand side of the front door will gain you access.

There is a reception area with seating. A door (84cm wide) gives access to the inner hallway, dining room and stairs to first floor.

The Dining room is located off this inner hallway through a door (80cm wide) The Dining room has 3 tables and 2 chairs per table. Each of the chairs seating is 44cm from the floor. The tables are 75cms x 75cms x 75cms.

All our Bedrooms are on the first floor. There are 15 steps up to the first floor. (17cm in height and 85cm wide) The stairs have a handrail and are bannistered.

Each Bedroom has a door 79cm wide. Two rooms are en-suite (doors 70cm wide) and one with a private bathroom (150 cm from the bedroom door) The private bathroom door is 74cm wide.

Each bathroom has a bath with a power shower over. The bath panel is 52 cm in height. To use the Shower you will have to step into the Bath. Safety shower mats are provided.

Our Garden can be accessed from our Car Park. All aspects of the Garden can be used without incurring steps. Seating of various sizes is available

A walking guide, for those with limited mobility, to help identify countryside routes appropriate to individual circumstances can be provided.
